The Henbury and Southmead Neighbourhood Partnership was launched in March 2008. The structure was recently reviewed and comprises as follows: 4 elected Councillors (2 from each ward) and a maximum of six resident representatives from each Ward. Resident representatives from Henbury are selected through the Henbury and Brentry Community Council. In Southmead they are put forward from the Southmead Steering Group. An Equalities representative is being recruited to join the Neighbourhood Partnership.
At the Launch the following issues were identified as common to both wards in the Partnership:
- Anti Social Behaviour
- Green Space and environmental issues
- Planning and Housing allocation
- Education
All Partners work together to develop solutions to resident’s concerns raised through Neighbourhood Forums held in each Ward. A new Action Plan will be developed over the Autumn of 2010 to refresh these priorities.
Each Ward in the Neighbourhood Partnership is allocated £8,500 as a Wellbeing Fund from which grants are made to support work which contributes to the priorities and promotes engagement and community benefit within the partnership area. Both wards fund a piece of shared work for £3,000 in addition.
