What's happening about Lawrence Weston College Site?

The former Lawrence Weston College site, part of which is owned by Bristol City Council (Children and Young Peoples Services Department) and part owned by the City of Bristol College (approximately 50% each) has been laying empty for over 12 months now. The owners have been working together with other key stakeholders, including local Councillors and the Lawrence Weston Communtiy Sector Network to agree how to move forward on this site.

The City Council proposes to use it's City Design Group in conjunction with other skills to develop ideas and options for the site. These will be refined and used to guide how the site can be developed in the future. The engagement of local people in the process will help shape how the site can meet local needs and contribute to the delivery of a communtiy led plan for the wider area.

We expect this work to be carried out before the end of October 2012.

Please contact Helen Bone on 8 or if you want to join a friends of the College Site Group and be actively involved in this work.

Avonmouth and Kingsweston Neighbourhood Forum will also be consulting on this issue on 7th February 2012 at 6.30pm at Benedictus Theatre, St Bedes school.
