Influencing Decisions

It is really important that people feel they can influence decisions. Of course, one way they can do so is by voting for their local councillor and then asking them to influence how the Council does things.

But the Council is just one of the partners, albeit the major one when it comes to what happens in your neighbourhood or street.

The Neighbourhood Partnerships are set up to allow people to influence everything that happens in their area; from bins to buses, from police to potholes, from graffitti to gardens. The list is virtually endless.

Over the next few months, the Bristol Partnership will be working with the Council to help strengthen the 14 Neighbourhood Partnerships so that they can assist the new Neighboutrhood Committees with the decisions they will be taking over the budgets that are being devolved to Neighbourhood Level.

In order to get involved, click on your Neighbourhood page and find out how things are done in your area.

Launches on 26th March 2010

£15,000 of the Cabot, Clifton & Clifton East well-being budget has been put of for grabs on the internet.

This pilot will check out whether people, especially young people, want to get involved in inlfuencing how money gets spent in Bristol.

Anyone can register, even if you don't live there, most people use the city centre and might have a view on how it could be improved.
